We’ve asked nursery to cap her nap at 1 hr, but on weekends she usually does 1.5-2hrs (also a nice break as I’m pregnant and usually nap too!) but also some days skips it entirely if we are out and about. Nursery days she has a routine (sleep 8-9pm - 8am, nap 12-1). Weekends there is no routine, sleep 9-9am, naps usually around 2pm for 1.5-2 hours, but sometimes it’s even later. We’re just lucky she is a good sleeper, as nothing seems to affect her nighttime sleep. (Making up for her first year which was a car crash sleep wise!)
Our son still naps 1.5-2 hours at nursery. He had always done 10.5 hours overnight but since our baby arrived (3.5 weeks ago) his sleep is out the window. Multiple wakings in the night and now getting up at 5am instead of 6:45-7:15am. It’s killing us. I knew the baby would be up in the night but hadn’t anticipated the toddler. We might start capping his nap at 1-1.5 hours but want to get his nighttime sleep back on track first. I think 10 hours is still considered sleeping through the night - some babies just need less.
10hrs overnight sounds exactly right? My daughter sleeps approx 9-6:30 (9-10hrs) and naps 12:30-13:30. 12hrs overnight isn't a gold standard, all kids need a different amount of sleep.
Our 5 Jan toddlers sleep for 1-1.5hrs per day, they can do less but currently that amount of sleep isn't impacting bedtime or night sleep. They wake 6.30-7am, nap 11.30-1.00 (ish) and go to bed 7pm. They were sleep trained at 12months old so have been good sleepers since then. Their older brother never ever did 12hrs overnight, some people just need less sleep.
My daughter is 4th of Jan. Sleeps 40minutes during the day. At night she sleeps from 7.30pm till 6.30 but waking up a few times and end up cosleeping.
Yes to nap but sleeps well at night - Wake up 7:00/ 7:15am - Naps after lunch for about 1.5 hours (Nap can vary a bit on weekdays, wildly on weekends) - Bedtime 7:30pm, goes down easily and sleeps through We recently increased his night sleep, moving bedtime from 8/8:30 to 7:30. He woke up early for the first few days but then got back to normal mornings. Hoping the additional hour or so will help his behavior as he tends to have issues at nursery when he’s getting tired
My boy was January 6th, we cut naps when he was about 18m because he would not sleep at night. He has the odd nap for 30mins in the car but never after 1pm - he goes to bed at 18:45 & only wakes around 4am to get into our bed & go back to sleep.. I was pregnant when he started to struggle at night & really relied on his nap to get some rest (HG pregnancy) and him dropping it was a killer but it did work out better in the long run x
My toddler was born 22nd Jan. he stopped napping around 18months old. He has been sleeping through since 7/8 months old. He suffers with night terrors which could happen every night for a week or not 1 for weeks. Bed at 7:30-8pm wake up 7:30-8am x
My LO has stopped napping through the day mostly but will nap if he’s exhausted and can’t cope without one, he sleeps through from about 7:30-5:30/6
My toddler was born 22nd Jan and has between 1- 1.5 hour nap in the day, then goes to sleep around 8:30pm until 7am, if she hasn’t had the nap by 2pm though we will skip it for that day I think she’s in between dropping the nap but does still need it most days! I have a newborn and also use toddler nap time to have a rest hahah
