Does anyone else have a really fussy eater?! My 18 month old refuses to eat anything healthy! I don’t know what to do anymore 😩 do I just leave him and not give him anything until he eats?!

What sort of things do you offer him xxxx

Yes to fussy but what she doesn’t ear is healthy (on the whole). Echo Sophie - what are things he is eating?

He will eat eventually if it’s the only option, he’s not going to starve. It’s a stressful time but I believe you have to be consistent. Good luck xx

I personally dont believe in refusing to give them anything they like until they eat something that you want them to eat. I certainly wouldn't want to be forced to eat things. My son gad been fussy since Christmas day but is getting better. I continue offering him new healthy foods alongside foods that are 'safe' that I know he will eat. He eventually tries things which I praise, even if he doesn't actually eat it in the end. It's a common developmental phase, he'll grow out of it

Oh I try him with everything from shepherds pie to chicken strips and veg - to cheese muffins to fish fingers but he just doesn’t seem interested 😩

Mine is very much the same especially when he’s under the weather, every day just trying new things and trying to contain my excitement if he goes for it as I don’t want to distract him 😂 my boy loves carbs and dairy but struggles with everything else so I give him blended fruit smoothies when he’ll accept them and vitamins in his morning milk and am just hoping he’ll get better!

My daughter is the same, she does eat healthy foods but will only eat finger foods, nothing ‘wet’ like pastas, curries, risottos, shepherds/fish pies. She has never even tried plain pasta or a grain of rice 🫠. It’s really hard not to get worked up over it but I don’t think there is anything you can do but continue to offer. I make my daughter foods I know she will eat and will put a spoonful of what her 2 year old brother (who eats anything) has on the side which ends up on the floor every day. Hopefully they will grow out of it but I know how you feel!
