No fruits

At my wits end!! My boy is constipated but refuses all kinds of fruit! I’ve cut it, pureed it - mixed it with other things - he still won’t eat it. What else can I do He’s 16 months old

Have you tried the prune pouches?

Which ones?

I have tried one of them but they don’t get him going

Might need a stool softener from gp/pharmacy. Xx

He’s been on laxido - was told to wean him off as it’s not good for him long term but as soon as we stop he’s back to being constipated

Could you get some prune juice or some fresh orange juice? They are both great for constipation x

Ella's kitchen does prune pouches or Pear ones will help too!

There are other high Fibre foods that aren't fruit. Black beans...sweet potato...carrots. He might also be dehydrated...should be giving him about 4 cups of water a day at that age.

My girl is 18 months and she refuses water has the tiniest sips so I syringe feed her water around 20 ounces rn but it should be around 32 ounces. Make sure he has high fibre food like weetabix. We’re also struggling with constipation trying harder tho with water intake and high fibre foods. I make homemade sausages with chicken and hidden veg like broccoli bc she hates green veg and limit carbs as much as I can.

My son refuses water too - sometimes he’ll drink but also going through a phase of spitting his water out instead of keeping it in 🤷🏽‍♀️

I’ve tried hidden veg but he’s v picky with what he eats too! Such a struggle

Just be consistent my daughter used to keep spitting it out but I kept on going every day and pretty much forcing it down her but carefully so that she doesn’t choke obvs and she’s so picky she’ll take tiny bits and spit food out but eventually if you don’t offer anything else they get hungry and eat it.

Try a teaspoon of ghee before bedtime aswell it’s supposed to help with constipation and with sleep. Maybe some raisin soaked water or even raisins?
