@Ayesha We combi feed, I did just BF to start with but even now sometimes, he’ll have a good feed from boob / expressed bottle and it doesn’t seem to fill him 🥲🥲 he’s rarely sick, not much spit up either which would tell me he’s genuinely hungry. If he’s ever had enough he will push the bottle out etc x
My son is 7 weeks and has started to feed every 2 hours…might be a growth spurt but I’m just following his cues 🤷🏼♀️
@Natalie Yeah quite possibly, the odd occasion he’ll go 2 and a half / 3 hours but rarely.. we always change nappy first to see if that’s what’s wrong (he’ll only cry when he’s hungry, needs changing, or over tired) but on a night time, he will wake every 2ish hours and it’s been like this for weeks. I guess I just felt a bit bad with how she said it x
My 8 week old daughter is every 3 hours but I can stretch her to 4 during the night as I've got a good routine for bedtime, some baby's just have their own pattern ans routine and it can feel wrong to you given the guidelines etc but it doesn't feel wrong to your baby and you shouldn't be so hard on yourself as baby's to be frank can be little cute pains in the butt x
@Darcey They’re verryyy cute. Well my thinking always is, he’s a happy boy in general and doesn’t fuss much at all unless hungry / needs changing, and after hes had his bottles / boob he’s satisfied and will lay kicking away or go to sleep. I think it just threw me off a little bit when she said ‘oh is he still waking every 2 hours’ and almost makes you feel like you’re doing something wrong, especially as a first time mum x
Honestly whatever works for your little fella is what's best, sounds like you're doing an absolutely fantastic job! X
Is he breastfed? My baby is nearly 6 weeks and she often still feeds every 2 hours. You can’t overfeed a breastfed baby. Don’t feel bad. As long as he’s fed and happy that’s all that matters.
