I felt like that for a long time. Made him my savior, my idol, my only friend even, but it became super unhealthy because he’s not perfect and I would nitpick about everything because I couldn’t understand why he wasn’t doing what I believed was obvious. Put him on a pedestal instead of seeing him as my partner in life who also has a life of their own. That’s why we need God/Jesus at the center of our lives and our marriage because the curse in Genesis is real. We want our husbands to be our everything because they protect and provide, but first we need to acknowledge that they also need someone (God) to also protect and provide for them and us as their shoulder of support. When you both rely on God and put Him at the center that’s where love starts to bloom in all kinds of places. A church community and Christ-fearing friends also help to feel less alone. Put God first, then your self care, and you’ll see the difference. Of course all of this is easier said than done, but worth it.
