Bedtime help!!!!

Since stopping BF to sleep in March - then only way to get my boy to sleep for naps and bedtime is buggy walks. Now this has been fine mostly - but I am looking to help him to transition to being able to go to sleep in his room. We have a routine where we start reading books in his bed and then (attempting) to get him to listen to a sleep story and lay while I rub his back. But he just can't sit still, no matter how tired or how long I try - he will want more books, play with toys or simply have a meltdown waiting to go back downstairs. I end up taking him to the buggy where he will immediately fall asleep. Does anyone have any tips? enough?

Does he have a pillow in bed? That helped my little boy sleep better. It will also provide a more inclined position like his pram x

@Alex - He does have a pillow!

Does he have a sleeping bag? If not, would that give him that ‘strapped in’ feeling?
