Night feeds 🥱

Hi everyone ✨ I always have to wake my little one for a feed during the night. He’s always only had one feed in the night, with a before bed and morning feed. He is a good weight and feeds well at all other times of the day. He’s nearly a month old and is above birth weight. The night feed always makes him unsettled, and sometimes he hardly takes much milk so it feels counterproductive to wake him! Do we need to keep waking him, or can we leave him to sleep for longer and just be ready for a feed should he wake? Sometimes I feel he could sleep the whole night! Thanks 🥰

I think you can leave him to sleep longer as long as he is still gaining weight and following his curve for weight

If he is over his birth weight then you don’t need to wake them for a feed I never have with my baby girl after she stopped waking for a feed about 2 weeks old. she sleeps 6 hours through the night and has morning feed about 4.30 then goes back off the sleep.. if she does crie in the night I will try the dummie but if she continues to fuss I will make a bottle but most of the time she is asleep by the time I come back with a bottle

I don’t wake my little boy up at night. He is 4 weeks old as well. When we first got home I was told to wake him up and I did, which he didn’t like and just didn’t work for us. He was under his birth weight then. When I decided to stop waking him up he started gaining weight and feeding better. Sleep is just as important as food. ✨
