Is it just me?

I am seriously really struggling to make friends! I’m just going to come out and say it. It’s starting to really take a knock on my confidence but is it just me?? I’m trying to go to baby groups etc and I try and speak to other mums but I’m not having any luck. It doesn’t seem to be able to get past the small conversations or everyone already has friends. My baby is 5 months old now and I thought I’d have at least one friend by now!

I've had the exact same experience. I am new to a rural community, so there is the fact that I am an outsider. It also seems like people just don't want new friends. Our closest neighbours have a girl 6 months younger than our daughter and have no interest in getting to know us or for our kids to spend time together. It's mind boggling

I had the same issue, no matter how much I went to baby groups. Then I told myself I will never beat myself over it again to find mom friends, my baby is 11 months old now and I haven’t had any mom friends until today when I went to a different baby group for the first time, this lady and I just clicked, coincidentally our baby girls were born the same month and 1 day apart. We had a good chat, exchanged numbers and tomorrow we are meeting up again for coffee or something . I hope will get along very well as the only friend I have where we live is my partner. I’m just happy I met her after 11 months of no friends.

I feel you. Mine is so difficult as I’m an introvert and don’t really do small talk 🤣. @Taryn I also have a next door neighbour that has a baby about 3months older than mine but like you said, they have no interest. Hoping one day I’ll click with someone like @Lele has described but till then I’ll keep having fun with my family 😀
