So generally we try and not let her get up at 5 😅 we treat it like a night wake and just keep putting her back down until she goes to sleep. That doesn’t always work though, and when it hasn’t I’ve stuck to one nap, and not brought it much earlier so it doesn’t reinforce the waking. So normally she naps at 12, so I’d put her down at 11 and maybe let her sleep a little longer (if she will!) so she still makes her normal bedtime.
@Jessica thanks. yeah I was thinking about stretching him until 11am and just see what happens. We tried so hard to get him back down but he wasn’t having any of it this morning 😟 send coffee!
@Anika oh my goodness. What is going on with these little ones this morning?! Haha. Sending coffee ☕️
We had it this morning 😅 thankfully after about 40 minutes she went back to sleep and is still sleeping now. I hope the day goes ok!! Sending coffee 😂
My little one usually wakes around 5-5.30 and naps 10.30-1 and then sleeps at 7pm. We’ve recently had some 4.30 wake ups and then he’s had 2 naps! It’s no fun when they’re awake so early
It must be the moon or something in the air 😂 hoping tonight’s sleep is better for you x
Best advice I had was to treat anything before 6am as a night wake, and do whatever you have to to get them back to sleep. If you let them ‘get up’ at that time, their body clock will very quickly set to 5am wake up. If you settle them quietly and as quickly as you back to sleep, their body clock sees this as a night wake and will set their wake up time to the time they wake after this. Anytime mine have woken before 6 I do this, and after a few nights they stop waking at 5 🙂 we have tommee tippee blackout blinds so it’s quite easy to convince them it’s still night time as their bedrooms are pitch black which helps 🙂
My little girl woke up at 4:30 this morning and would t go back to sleep 🤦🏽♀️ we’ve only recently transitioned to one nap so she’ll be having two today otherwise she wouldn’t cope. But it’d be interesting to hear what others do x
