What yoghurts are you giving your baby?

I give Greek natural yoghurt which he eats but I’m looking for something that tastes abit creamier and is still healthy?

Not sure if you’d use this as an option but my baby has soya alpro yoghurt due to her milk allergy & she loves it x

You could just go for normal full fat greek yoghurt rather than natural greek style it's a lot creamier and thicker

We give Oatly oat based yogurt due to her milk allergy, I give my toddler regular greek yogurt and the fake stuff is a lot more thick/ creamy. Tastes horrible imo but she doesn’t mind 😅

Any yoghurt except natural is full of sugar but no worse than baby pouches if it's the no added sugar ones. If he eats it why change? Add fresh fruit for different flavours or cereal. My lo has porridge with banana, rasberries or blueberries for pudding. I occasionally give him a no added sugar munch bunch which is probably the least sugary

We use glenilen natural yoghurt it's from cork and it comes in a 'kids' pouch with no added sugar as well we can get it in the north of Ireland unsure about Britain

I use Yeo Valley natural yoghurt and he loves it. Can buy their big 950g pots too so it lasts a little while (I eat it too!)

We have Yeo Valley natural yogurt 😋

Basically, all yogurts have alot of sugar, so should really be one offs not everyday. For comparison Coca-Cola has equivalent 10.6g sugar Yeo valley natural yogurt has 4.9g sugar. Yeo valley 6+months no added sugar has 6.2g sugar. Munch bunch no added sugar has 3.5g sugar Yeo valley 7+ months banana custard yoghurt 5.9g Petit filous no added sugar has 4.9g sugar Petit filous 8.9g sugar Onken Greek yohurt 6g sugar Alpro Greek style strawberry 8.2g sugar Alpro plain no sugar 0g sugar All this information is on the labels, but as per baby pouches can be confusing. It's all per 100g.

@Lucy where did you get this info from? I just checked and Yeo Valley natural yoghurt has 4.9g per 100g. Also are these amounts per 100g or per puch/serving/something else? You need to be precise to compare like with like.

@Nina sorry, was a typo. I got it from the packs themselves and wrote that all the information can be checked on labels. My HV showed me baby rice cakes have more than double the amount of sugar then normal ones. She said once baby is written on, the sugar content goes up. I think I'm still in shock. Yoghurts are just very bad offenders 😂 and I can't believe companies can do what they do

So what's the acceptable amount of sugar then according to your HV? Basically anything with carbs in also has some sugar, so no idea how are you meant to get them used to all sorts of foods if even that low amount of sugar isn't acceptable (talking about 4.9g per 100g).I saw that baby puches have ridiculous amounts of sugar that's why I don't buy them, but there will be naturally occuring sugar in most foods, including yoghurt, even if they don't add any sugar as part of the food processing.
