Sore nipples

I had my baby a week ago and have been EBF, my nipples are in turmoil, so so sore! We're working on our latch and have had a tongue tie revision but with there being lots of damage they're still really sore (can't currently put her on my right boob it's that bad), wondering if anyone had any healing tips (using Lansinoh and silver cups) x

Following - it’s like you have written this post for me 🤣

Have you tried breastmilk in the silver cups instead of lansinoh? Helped me! Apparently lanolin in a lot of nipple creams can cause irritation as well.

Breast milk on the nipples and rubbing it in may also help. I moisturised with the No Harm Nipple Balm too

This was me. Had my little girl 4 days ago and started off just breast feeding. Nipples got so sore. I couldn't take the pain. The second my nipple went into her mouth it was like fire. I took the pressure off myself & gave her formula. My aim is to keep my milk supply going in the hope that I can express. Waiting for a pump to arrive today 🤞🏻 I really didn't want to give her formula, but I had to listen to my body & what was right in that moment.

Jelonet gauze dressing works well! It’s on Amazon and you just cut a small piece and leave it on your nipple until the next feed. Also running a bit of breast milk on your nipple before and after a feed has been working for me x

I have done this 3x Everything hurts at this point. Even expressing and the idea of feeding brings tears, I resented my baby and cried through feeds. The blood, the scab! I feel you, girls. My older mom friend told me to persevere and that it will be amazing and beautiful after. And I did and it was. But the first weeks. Horrible!! Now on baby #3 and Nipple shields!! It still hurts, but less and as there is no direct contact, your nipples can heal. I didn’t have them in the hospital for the first 3-4 days and really struggled. It took a day or two to heal.

Lansinoh and feed in rugby hold position. Mine got better after about 2 days xx
