Hey lovely, im a 3rd time mum and it sounds like he is getting himself nice and ready! I dont have any advice regarding how uncomfortable you are, but please try and rest and listen to your body! She probably didn't check your cervix to make sure she didn't irritate it. Your Badger notes will show engaged you are. When she's updated them it will show your engagement out of 5 and that will give you a better idea. Annoyingly though it doesn't mean much. My daughter was 2/5 engaged and 3 days later only 4/5 so they do still move about until D day! Good luck, and the day is nearly here so enjoy these last few moments for yourself before he consumes every second lol 🥰
Honestly I’m no medical professional but I’ve been seeing A LOT of these posts now for women between 35-39 weeks, so I’m inclined to believe this is normal and supposed to be happening. I’m experiencing the same thing and have been for about a week now, my midwife also isn’t worried and neither is maternity. I believe we’re all just very close to starting labour and these aches and pains we’re feeling are 100% normal x
I'm 36 weeks with my 2nds and i also had a growth scan yesterday, I am experiencing these same sensations, it's all normal, if you where having regular contractions to indicate you may be in labour then they may have checked you but as you are not contracting and it's just pressure which is very common at this stage in pregnancy, a check is just increasing the risk of infection unnecessarily x
It's a waiting game. Even if she gave you your Bishop score etc it would still be a waiting game, especially when it's your first one. Your baby can stay engaged for literally weeks. You can walk around a few cms dilated for weeks. Or you can give birth tomorrow. All these things are very weak predictors. With my first, I had her low in my pelvis from probably around 37-38 weeks, didn't dilate at all until around 41 weeks, and didn't give give birth until 41+5. This time, I'm 39 weeks and baby still isn't even engaged 🤷🏻♀️
Hey Mama, I’m currently 36weeks with my second baby, my first is 20months and during both pregnancies I’ve felt the same. It is very much normal. Baby is just preparing to make an exit xx
Hey I have similar with cramps/ braxton hicks and am 37 weeks today, although saw the midwife yesterday and she didn’t offer me any info / reassurance when I told her and was quite dismissive so it’s useful to see what yours said and others comments as I wasn’t sure if it was normal or I was going into labour lol x
It's so refreshing to read these comments :: I'm 39 weeks baby is engaged but no sign of labour :: was getting fed up but now I'm allowing the body to do what it needs to do U got this mama
I’m 37 weeks and I’m the same. It’s tough! I didn’t have this much discomfort with my first pregnancy. Also, the feet swelling is realllly annoying me and very uncomfortable. 2/3 more weeks to go… 😅
I experienced this at 35 +6 weeks and now I’m holding my little girl in my arms, was such a shock. Completely unprepared didn’t even have hospital bag ready
Hey Sheri 👋 first time mum over here and also 38 weeks! I’m experiencing the exact same symptoms as you and have also been advised it’s a waiting game and to remain active! Happy to chat and talk more - feel free to message. All the best xx
