Are you unhappy?
You can definitely lose weight and still breastfeed. Higher protein diet, cut down on sugars and incorporate some type of physical movement into your routine
@ALI some people can & some people can’t, I haven’t lost any of my pregnancy weight & have even gained some weight and I’m still breastfeeding almost 20m pp. My body is just holding onto all of that extra fat and storing it just in case. It’s really annoying and frustrating some days but I’ve accepted I probably won’t be able to lose it till I can cut back on food once I’m not breastfeeding anymore
@MaryKate I breastfed-extended-two so I get it.
The two don’t have to correlate, you can breastfeed and still lose weight. Over a year old your supply is very established so you don’t need to worry about that. Move more or eat less, or ideally both, so that you are in a calorie deficit.
The moment I stopped breastfeeding my first child, I lost 15 lbs. I gained so much weight when breastfeeding. I gained it back when I started bfeeding again once my second was born about 9 months later, and the same thing happened. Different diets both time. Do what you feel is right. I felt much better once the weight came off but also sad I ended it so soon.
I stopped BF 1,5 months ago and don't loose any weight (I work out and take care of my food)... It might not be related to bf at all. Hope you can find a way to accept your new body (it's really hard!!!!).
Maybe see how you feel in a month? I'm still breastfeeding at almost 15 months. I lost weight over the summer walking lots, then put it back on over winter. Maybe you can do both by walking more over the summer 😊
you can totally shed some weight and still breastfeed! Gotta better foods and you can do low impact work outs if your concerned I think the most important thing is just to make sure you stay hydrated and get good sleep! I feel ya my little one is almost one and I’m on the mini pill so shedding it has been hard but it’ll happen with consistency
Drink more water and be more active, working out and dancing did not affect my supply I BF until 3, but I got back to weight by his 1st bday. Because I’m so active in my every day life I gradually ever so slowly lose the weight because m I’m on a slight defecit (unknowingly) that I shocked myself when I could fit into my jeans again at a year pp. I do take an average of 8-10k steps though just taking my baby out every day for 3-4hrs the steps easily add up for me just always on my feet.
I’ve lost 10pounds just by wearing him and walking everyday 1hr plus , I still eat the same and addicted to sweets. Once I’m done breastfeeding I plan to fast
In my case, when I was breastfeeding my body held on to every calorie and I weighed more at the height of my breastfeeding journey than at the end of my pregnancy. I only weaned when I got pregnant again and lo and behold? I lost weight. As for your question, it’s completely up to you. But I’d think deeply about whether this is the only reason. In my case, I breastfed until mine was 13 months and I only stopped because he stopped. And while I felt sad that it stopped, I didn’t have to hold on to any kind of guilt that I was taking something away from him. So, if you think you can stop at a year and you’ll feel fine and it’s what you want, go for it. But trust the weight will come off whenever you stop, even if that’s in a year’s time.
I lost so much weight breastfeeding. The changing your diet while breastfeeding. If it really does effect your supply then you will naturally stop, but it probably won’t
Now they need less milk as foods becoming their main source of food you should be able to loose weight and still breastfeed
I’m confused I guess. Can you not lose weight AND breastfeed? Are they interconnected?
