We've got the same issue, such a long baby boy 😅 we've put a travel cot up for now in the living room and that seems to be working well
I had him on the sofa today asleep but health visitor advised against it 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
@Hannah I wish I had the space, I was toying with the idea of another next to me but wasn’t sure what to do xx
You aren’t too small for a cot, they can be used from birth, just some babies might not like the bigger space but it’s worth trying. Also while they advise all sleep to supervised for day naps, I (and most people I know) are happy to do naps in a cot with monitor and regular check ins. So if you have a cot in another room I’d try that out. Gets them used to it too. Or you could do the same in your room with the next to me if that’s what you already have. Overnight sleep still next to you in your room of course. Travel cot is another good idea and a lot at every way to pop up/pack away as needed.
I've had to get rid of my moses basket for downstairs as my boy is 9weeks and 14lbs and very long legged like his dad , so we're currently struggling with what to get for him to nap in also x
My baby goes on the couch in the day as it’s a firm surface and I’m always awake when he naps to keep an eye on him
@Chloe HV will always disagree. He’s your baby you do what works for you both and if you feel it’s putting him on the sofa next to you, do it ! I put my little girl on the sofa and I did the same with my eldest There is no harm in it as long as you are with them, I feel sometimes HV put a downer on parents
@Lucy Sky this sounds my little boy he’s nearly 9 weeks and 13lbs, If you find something please let a momma know 🤣🤞 xx
@Jess like wise lovely!😂 us chunky baby mamas really be struggling 😂x
We’re using his pram/carrycot downstairs.
We have a monitor and put him in his next to me upstairs with the white noise, blinds shut etc during his nap times and I do regular check ins. He’s 10 weeks old
My boy won’t lay in moses basket so we also do sofa or pram x
Either on me, in her cot upstairs, on the sofa or in her carry cot bit of pram
I'd say don't put on the sofa. As they can roll and fall (and you never know when they are going to do it so). And tbh, their heads are quite heavy and chances are they hit them before everything else. And, honestly, even though you say 'i' m going to watch her, I'll be in the same room' nahhh, you'll do it for a short period of time but then you'll check your mobile, soke would call at the door, you'll make a coffee/tea, going to the bathroom, etc. Some distraction would appear and Murphy's law.... Then would happen. Better save than sorry in my opinion. Try travel cot?, easy to put and take away in case is in the way or next to me crib. Smaller than a normal cot but bigger than a moses basket. Try second hand as it would be cheaper and sooner or later you are going to get rid of them....
I've also recently had to get rid of the Moses, and he tends to now sleep on me and then I move him next to me on the sofa. It's not a great plan, but is working for the moment.
