Difficulties following directions and focusing
So I know my daughter has a lot of energy, and she's a pretty great kid. However, we just signed her up for gymnastics and noticed she does not follow directions very well. She's very easily distracted and can not sit still while waiting her turn. I'm pretty sure she is nerospicy, but I don't want to pursue a diagnosis with everything that's happening. I just feel like I'm struggling to find a way to help her in her class without having to chase her around and repeat the directions to her over and over. Any advice on what could help? For reference, we do limit foods and drinks with dyes. I know those play a role in behavior.
My daughter is similar. Also a July 2022 baby and I take her to My Gym classes. She attempts to run off and I just do my best to wrangle her back and get her accustomed to following directions. At this stage, it is quite difficult to get them to sit still if all they want to do is play. I just started going with it and try and refocus/redirect back to the activity.
