Insensitive comments
Does anyone else's husband or boyfriend make insensitive comments about your appearance?
I'm now starting back at work after mat leave and some of my old work clothes don't fit anymore, so I've been feeling really self conscious and down about it.
My husband is lovely but sometimes he just makes insensitive comments and it's really getting me down.
The main thing he'll say if I complain about my weight is about me not exercising ("If you started running" or "you could try going to the gym").
I know they're valid things to say and they're true if I want to lose weight, but obviously I'm exhausted with LO and working and I don't have enough time in the day.
It's just made me think that all the negative things I'm thinking about my body, he's thinking too. Knock on effect is that I now don't want to be intimate with him as I don't want to be naked around him.
I’m so sorry your going through this 💕 but often times men tend to try and fix situations rather than trying to validate or be empathetic towards how you feel on certain matters, you recently gave birth and as you explained too busy and can’t find time to actively try to work on you weight which is ok things takes time and shouldn’t be rushed give your self some grace! Try and talk to him in let him know how you feel about those comments and see what happens after even though he should be very understanding due to the fact you recently gave birth.
