Farro & Grilled Halloumi

Farro bowl with a cilantro sauce and roasted tomatoes. I grilled the halloumi cheese for the adults, and gave 11 month old bite sized pieces pre-grilling. (I served him individual pieces from his bowl, because he like’s to be served one by one… otherwise he just throws all the food on the floor 😂)

LOVE this for me! How do you make it?

Is there a reason baby's wasn't grilled?

@Gabrielle Cooked the farro first in water. Chopped the tomatoes and then cooked them with a bit of olive oil and ground pepper in a separate pan. I then grabbed a bunch of cilantro and blended it with some water and garlic. Once the farro was fully cooked, I added it and the cilantro sauce to the pan of tomatoes and mixed it all together. For the halloumi, you just need to pat it super dry with a paper towel, drizzle tiny bit of olive oil and just grill it on on a cast iron skillet (or really any pan would probably work too!)

@Emmo I was concerned that the edges might get too hard for him, so I opted to keep the cheese soft/not grilled. But I think grilled would’ve been fine in retrospect.

@Samantha fair enough, I guess I just can't imagine it being nice 🤣 super rubbery

@Emmo Lol yes I did try it without grilling and it was surprisingly not bad!

Yummy 😋
