Same as above, ready to use formula can help if they're constipated. I think giving water is quite outdated advice now x
I had my 6-8 week appointment the other day too. Also mentioned about him pooping not that often and she also told me about govinf cooled boiled water. She did mention that the HV wouldn't suggest this, I'm yet to try it
I guess you’re formula but if you are EBF did you do any colostrum harvesting? Or even if you are on formula did you harvest for freezer? Only I think it’s meant to act as a laxative (to get the meconium through quicker) so maybe worth a shot!
We were told cooled boiled water. My toddler only pooped once a week until he started solids and never had any big issues. Occasionally had to squeeze out some air but he really enjoyed that
My HV suggested 1oz cooled boiled water as a one off when my baby was constipated. As a general rule EBF babies shouldn’t have water as it fills their tummies which means they drink less breast milk and miss out on its nutrients, calories etc
My health visitor told me if baby is constipated to use the ready made formula (my LB is on aptimil) so I use these when he gets constipated and he goes within half a hour of having it x
