Anyone else had the same?

My 6 week old is being really fussy breastfeeding the last couple of days. He is latching and unlatching after 5 minutes or so. Every time he goes to latch back on he doesn't actually try to latch properly and ends up crying. I switch sides and he does the same. Fine for a few minutes then fussing. It's not at every feed. He's fine overnight, and in the morning. It's on and off in the afternoons. It's not that let down is too fast. Could it be that it's too slow? Does this come along with the 6 week growth spurt which I'm pretty sure he's just coming out of? I really haven't enjoyed breastfeeding anyway and this is making it so stressful!

Omds I could have written this myself, my Lo is 6 weeks aswell. Exactly the same. Morning feeds are fine, and during the night are fine but during the day she cries while latching and keeps unlatching. I’ve been so worried so I’ve pumped out my milk instead to give her in a bottle and she drinks that fine so I’m unsure what’s going on 🥲

I’ve had this same issue too, mine is 7 weeks and he gets really fussy at times not all feeds also. Don’t know why he will unlatch but still want to latch back on and it’s painful went he yanks away at me 🤦‍♀️ I have to pump for a few feeds to give myself a break to not be too sore. Why they do this? 😂

@Az @Jade So reassuring to hear others are in the same boat.. Why is breastfeeding so hard!!

Idk 😩 it lit is ain’t it. Just drains u and I’m not an over supplier so I literally feed and pump after feeds to build maybe a couple of feeds to either give myself a break for half the day or trips out. I’m still hoping for it to get easier. How do some mums go on to breastfeed for years 😳

Omg i thought it was just me! Evening feeds my little one SCREAMS at my boob, until i move him away. Have to calm him down and try again but fine on mornings, and through the night. Only been the last few days and he’s 5W2D so approaching 6 weeks. We’ve had a heatwave in UK too (not sure where youre from) but initially thought it was the weather. Now i think it might be normal!

@Jade That's what I'm hoping too! Right now I don't know how they do it!!

@Gemma I'm in the UK too so also wondered if it was down to weather but I've seen a few things suggesting 6 weeks being a fussy time for breastfeeding!

I’m also uk and Iv read up it’s a thing that is around 6weeks and they have a growth spurt too. But my little one is 8weeks on tues and he still doing it 🤦‍♀️😂

When he gets fussy try burping him!

It’s very normal. Have a look at this article from a lactation consultant x https://www.facebook.com/share/1FrPcg3rXK/?mibextid=wwXIfr
