Weaning help

Just a first time mum that needs help! Since we started weaning my little girl has been on purées with a few snacks such as melty sticks and now I’m feeling guilty that I should’ve done BLW instead of relying purées and sometimes pouches. I’ve tried transitioning into BLW but it’s such a fail. Can’t get her to pick up anything and put it to her mouth other than her melty sticks. I’ve been using solid starts to figure out how to serve it - I’ve been serving it as though she’s 6 months even though she’s almost 11 months. She’s breast fed as well so idk if it makes a difference. Just really stuck as I feel like I’m hindering her development with spoon-feeding which she won’t always take to.

Baby weaning is such a journey! I would offer finger foods still alongside her purees. Get some baby led weaning spoons and let her play with them (they make great teethers too!), and at meal times pre-load a spoon for her but let her take it. Also you can do games, cook up some veg sticks and you both can taste them together. Seeing you do it will definitely encourage her. Honestly it takes persistence but all babies are different. I don’t think breastfeeding makes a difference (I breastfeed). If its any reassurance, my 16m old sometimes wants me to spoon feed her even though she is perfectly capable of doing it herself!
