Transitioning out of the swaddle

How are you transitioning your little one out of the swaddle? My baby loved being swaddled but he rolled over on his own yesterday. I have the halo swaddle and I just have one arm out, started doing during his naps but he usually naps on his swing, being supervised. He just woke up to feed but I’m having a hard time putting him to sleep and he keeps startling himself. I know many recommend the Merlin sleep suit but I know it’s not the safest option. I don’t remember my daughter having this issue, she transitioned pretty well. I would love some tips because I’m tired lol

Sleep sacks are great’

Try making it a little looser so he can free his arms out on his own (someone catch me in the comments here if this is not recommended). Our baby stretched his velcro swaddles so much that they were permanently loose on him. Then he started freeing himself in his sleep and spending half the night free. That's when we decided he was ready for an armless sleep sack

imo , tire him out real good but don’t put him down over tired. while he naps you should allow him to startle and he can learn to self soothe, eventually he’ll be fine with armless sleep sack

When I did the one arm transition with the halo with my first, it was actually worst 😅 It was like he wanted all or nothing. So I would try doing both arms out and wrap the band around their abdomen. I would try with nap though 😅

We use the zipadee zip. Used the love to dream before.
