I've never had a pumping schedule. I just pump whenever I get time. My supply has dipped recently so now I'm pumping more but I still don't pump in middle of the night if my baby doesnt wake up 🤷♀️
I try to do every two hours when able but at night I go 4-6 hours and then I just get extra when I pump
Consider yourselves all super lucky 😅 Im an under supplier and have to supplement with formula everyday since I don’t make quiet enough. I wish I could pump whenever or drop the number of pumps but I can’t and don’t want to give up yet!
I had a big supply dip between 3-4 weeks and then again 11-12 weeks but still pump 40-46 oz usually. I haven't been able to keep a super strict schedule but I pump 5-7 (usually 6 times per day) I am still waking up once at night though because with all 3 of my other kids I dried up quick and didn't produce long so I'm afraid to drop the MOTN pump. My LC convincing me I'll lose my supply doesn't help either. Baby would sleep through the night if I'd let her which I accidentally did once.
@Emma something similar happened to me up until my baby was about one month. I realized it must have been because I wasn't pumping after every feed. I was scared to pump in fear of not having enough milk left for my baby for the next feed since I was ebf and I nursed almost every hour. I learned that our body's learn to produce what the baby needs based off of how often we pump/ nurse. Finding a routine can be tricky but find what works for you and try to be consistent. I also want to share that lots of water, coconut water and body armor drinks helps keep me hydrated which is a must! Good luck on your supply, you've got this :)
I have definitely taught my body to last 4-6 hours in the daytime and up to 8 at night! Still a massive oversupply
