EBF Night Feeds

My LO is 3 months old and has been doing anything from 3-6 hr stretches. When he wakes I change him and feed. When did you all drop the night feeds? Once they were sleeping through? What kind sleep routine do you have?

My little girl is 5.5 months old and EBF and still feeds 2 if not 3 times a night. I only get between 2-3 hour stretches with her though. I offer comfort first but it’s 9/10 boob she wants. I did however stop changing her (unless pooped which is very rare at night now). Clean nappy just before bed and the first thing when she wakes up for the day. Bedtime routine starts around 7pm and sleeping for 8pm and she can wake for the day around 7/8am x

I night weaned my son at 17 months. That’s what made him start to sleep through (not all the time but that’s what massively improved his sleep). It’s not recommended before 12 months though.

9 weeks now and we stopped waking him up at 3 weeks. Sometimes he sleeps through, sometimes he wakes up for one night feed, but we follow his lead.

My daughter almost 15 months and still feeding at night . Sometimes it’s only 1/2 , then when poorly/ growing/ teething it increases. No need to stop feeding at night , but baby might need a bottle if they take it instead at this age. When she did start sleeping longer I didn’t change her nappy at night . As that seemed to wake her more.

From 6 months, night feeds became less and less. 6-8 months we were down to 2 night feeds. Then 1. From 11 months he was really sleeping through. Also at 6 months we moved him to his own room and there were times he would wake up and then self settle. If he was in our room I would have likely got him up and fed him to keep the noise down. I believe with this he got used to not being fed and putting himself back to sleep and then eventually sleeping longer. It might not seem like it now but getting up in the night and feeding back to sleep is a lot easier and quicker than having to rock them or do anything else to get them back to sleep. Also that’s amazing he’s doing 3-6 hour stretches already! At that point we were up every 2 hours still!

My girl is 19mo and is on the boob 4-6 times a night on average 😂😂🥲

My pediatrician told me at our 4 month visit to stop night feeding. He suggested if we don’t cut it out now it will be harder to do later on.
