Repeated latching/unlatching
My little girl is 8 days old and this evening keeps latching/unlatching on my right side.
I have no idea why!
She seems to get very cross, she wants to nurse but only does a suckle or two before coming off

@Lailuma she’s not coughing whilst feeding. It’s only just started tonight, it happens as soon as she latches and takes a few minutes to get her to actually drink :(
@Emma does it sound like she’s gulping at all because if it’s happening when she latches, all I can think of is a forceful letdown as my baby does that too and I tend to hand express for a few seconds to stop the milk from spraying at her and then she feeds comfortably x
@Lailuma nope, just straight on and straight back off. Weirdly she’s not doing it this morning and only last night! Babies… 🤷🏻♀️

Sounds like you either have a fast letdown esp if she’s choking and coughing or if shes been on the breast for a bit, it means your flow has slowed down and she wants a faster flow. In this case, offer the other breast or it could mean she’s got trapped wind and needs to be burped 😅
