Green poo

My 12 week old breastfed baby did lots of dirty nappies yesterday and almost all of them were green colour. Why this could be? He has no fever and otherwise he is fine.

Hiya! When i spoke to rhe GP and HV about this, they said it is likely to be something i have eaten, that my little girl has then reacted to. If not that, the GP also said it’s a sign that baby has over fed after having a hungry day and it will sort itself out. Hope this helps! X

I saw a post from a lactation consultant that said in a heat wave your baby takes in more thirst quenching milk and that can cause green poo x

Foremilk causes green poop - your body is likely producing way more of this to keep your little one hydrated in the heat

If the green poo is just for one or a few nappies then it isn't a concern, my breastfed baby has green nappies from time to time, he did when had a cold but also he seems to get them if he's cluster feeding a lot too. But for the most part his poops are the usual mustard colour.

Thanks everyone! Let’s see. Might be because of the heat the last few days. I’ll keep monitoring him as the weather it’s cooler now hopefully it will sort itself out. 🙏🏻
