milk is constantly flowing and even 10mins after pumping you can still get more out, you will have more over longer periods of time but if you contarle empty them they will immediately make more
I just asked grok ai app this(if you dont have it yet ladies, get it! The free version works great for me) The time it takes for your breasts to replenish 4 oz of breastmilk varies based on individual factors like milk supply, demand, and how frequently you pump or nurse. On average, your body is constantly producing milk, and it can take about 20–30 minutes to a few hours to replenish 4 oz after pumping, assuming regular stimulation (nursing or pumping every 2–3 hours). Milk production is driven by supply and demand. When you remove milk by pumping 4 oz, your body signals to produce more. Most women produce milk at a rate of about 1–1.5 oz per hour per breast under consistent demand. So, for 4 oz total (roughly 2 oz per breast), it could take around 1–2 hours to replenish, though this can be faster or slower depending on your body’s response, hydration, nutrition, and stress levels. To maintain or increase supply, pump or nurse regularly (every 2–3 hours), stay hydrated
But yes just keep expressing as much as you can between feeds. I am able to pump about 4 oz in 7 mins and have only been pumping once a day and just breastfeed the rest of the day. So others can feed baby and I can get some things done. Stay hydrated! I’ve been obsessed with oat milk currently and coconut water!
I’m drinking one carton of each a day on top of drinking milk and juices and tea
I also take 1200 mg of fenugreek a day once in the morning 600 mg and then at night. I sometimes get those hydration packets but they are a bit too expensive to have often for me.
I’m not exactly sure but my lactation consultant said breast milk is like a stream not a pond (as in milk always flows) xx
