Screen addiction

I want my boys to have a healthy relationship with screens and I know the fact that I am addicted to them does not help. What do you do when you are overstimulated and need an escape/break that is not scrolling on your phone??

Colouring :)

I go outside to sit on the porch to watch the birds in the trees and sit there with my dog. And try to meditate and focus on calm breathing techniques.

I also like to crochet to get out my nervous energy!

Reading, exercising, playing with my kiddo. Whatever it is, I make sure the phone is silenced and places away from me (like I would need to go to the effort of getting up and grabbing it to scroll or answer texts).

Arts and crafts

Coloring, painting, go outdoors, yoga (my daughter imitates me), read a book, draw. I’ve been wanting to try crocheting

Playing with my daughter. Do the endless chores. Get out of the house with her and go on an adventure somewhere! Sometimes I just go out on the porch either with her or alone and just breathe. When I'm really at a breaking point I make sure she is somewhere entertained and safe, go to the bathroom/another room and allow myself to scroll...of course, now that my daughter is a toddler this is much more difficult.

Putting the TV remote and phone in a different room really helps me. Because I actively have to leave my baby that's playing and happy to go get them. I also crochet and put music on because I need noise lol
