18 month old sleep issues

Looking for some major advice! I feel like I have messed my son’s sleep up big time. I didn’t sleep train him…have done all the “bad” habits… I still nurse him to sleep. I lay him down in his own bed but after 2 1/2 hours he wakes up looking for me. I started co sleeping on a floor bed awhile back out of pure exhaustion after a few rough sleep regressions. He has definitely adjusted to me sleeping there. As much as I absolutely looooove the cuddles it would be great if I can get him to at least sleep a longer stretch without needing me. I feel bad that he is so dependent on me to feel comfortable sleeping. He is so happy when he gets good rest. I can tell the nights where he doesn’t sleep well because he is crabby in morning. Any advice would be great.

I have some advice, feel free to DM. I’d feel more comfortable that way :) my son is 16 months btw.

Following because I’m in the same boat!

@Jenn Pm me as well :)

Firstly, you have not messed up his sleep. Supporting your baby to sleep will not make them sleep worse (I’m a night nanny and this narrative of creating “bad habits” needs to change). I would love to help for free to gain more experience. I have been a night nanny for years and also helped several friends with little tips in changes of routine but have recently taken a refresher course and would love to expand to more sleep consultancy work hence wanting to gain further experience. Let me know if this is something that would interest you and I can send you a sleep diary to fill out for the week x
