Night time. What am I doing wrong

My 16 month old is up twice a night wanting a bottle and refusing to go back down to sleep after his second bottle at 2 am. He only wants to sleep on you in his rocking chair and he won't even cosleep in our bed. me and my husband are exhausted. His room last night was 19 degrees and he was in a short sleeved vest, pjs and 1.5 tog sleep bag. He wakes up usually between 6 and 7am (after we spend ages getting him down again at the moment). He has a 2 hour nap at about 12 after his lunch. He eats well in the day with his final meal between 4-5pm. Before bed he has a routine, of Bath (alternating days), teeth, getting pjs on, bottle, sleep music and rocking to sleep) and is usually down at about 7pm. I don't know what I am doing wrong that makes him wake up and not want to be put back down in his crib (he gets put down once he is drowsy enough). :( what should I do. Me and my husband are so tired and we wanted to try for another baby soon, but are worried whilst our current babies sleep is so bad.

It could be the sleeping bag, he might be feeling restricted. My little boy likes to sleep on his front atm, and it’s possible your little one wants to aswell, I assume he is sleeping on his front on your chest? Do you feed the bottles during the night or just give it to them in their cot? X

we are in the same situation , sometimes my little one will have still 3,4 bottles during the night and from last bottle around4 5 pm won’t sleep anymore..but he isn’t eating solids very well during the day unfortunately just tasting the food..we are soo tired i cant even explain..

You could try adding in a small supper like a bowl of porridge around 6.30pm. He may also just not need as much sleep now hes older, so you could try a slightly later bedtime and/or capping the nap

@Storme feeding the bottles and yeah when I rock him he goes on my front on my. But I think on his back with his dad 😂 x

@Storme also, I don't think it's the bag. Just because when it was really hot then other day, we left the bag off him and got the same outcome x

Thanks , I've never thought about leaving some milk in his cot 😂 I'll consider it x

We used to rock to sleep and transfer for bedtime and night but as soon as she began feeding herself we do usual bedtime routine cuddles then into bed and she feeds herself although she still wakes I don’t change her unless she’s really wet so just go in lay down an pass her water and if she really won’t settle we give milk

@Laura how old were they when you started doing this ? X
