Out of interest, what comments are people getting about their LO that are triggering?

Mine is ‘she plays so well independently’. I just have to nod and smile rather than saying what I want which is “yes, that is a direct result of my postpartum depression and 2 abdominal surgery’s, she plays well independently because I both mentally and physically couldn’t get down on the floor to be with her.” Please feel free to rant. Interested to know other similar things 🤷🏼‍♀️

People saying he’s not tired or ready for a nap when I know he’s exhausted 😬

Sounds like you’ve had a tough time. We’re all a product of our genetics and our experiences and things are rarely black and white. Of course you’d prefer you hadn’t been through PND and surgery, but on the flip side, you may find she adjusts better at nursery / school as a result. Also she might have had that independence streak anyways? What triggers me - comments about what I can try to get my baby to sleep “have you tried a carrier” really got me in the early days…as if I wouldn’t have thought of that!!! I’ve had him in a carrier for almost an hour straight with him screaming…”have you tried a pram nap” - same answer! I also get rage from time to time when I see babies sleeping in their pram. Or when other mothers bring their sleeping baby into a baby group in the car seat and they stay asleep for half the class.

It is probably stupid… but a lot of people would say “You have a lovely boy” or anything along this line… but she is a girl… and sometimes I would really like people to refer to her as just baby… Also, my mom (mom of 4) would always say “Oh my children always slept at night and had long naps, idk why your girl doesn’t”… it is like comment that doesn’t imply anything, but it perceived like I am doing something wrong. Or when I put baby to sleep at 8pm and someone would say “This is very early” while a lot of professionals would say that baby should sleep at 7pm…
