Taste safe sensory bins!
I’m a SAHM of a 3yo & 13mo and these are the activities we do: Check your local library for story times or music time. Morning stroller walks on nearby walk/ bike paths or walk around a park. Look for museums or kid friendly places. Community centers might offer activities for babies/ toddlers. Sensory play at a playground - look for sandboxes and baby/toddler specific playgrounds. They’re usual enclosed and have small play structures. Even if they don’t walk they get acquainted with pulling themselves up or crawling on steps. At home have different sensory toys like a container of water for them to splash. Spinners on a window or appliance to play with. Fill a laundry basket with things for them to take out and put back in. Honestly, a 13 month old is just curious about everything going on. Include them in your daily activities and they’ll be happy. By 16 months, my first was already helping me load the washer 😆
Asked heal baby care app and sharing in case it helps: "It's wonderful that you're looking for engaging activities for your daughter! At 13 months, she might enjoy simple games like "peek-a-boo" or "hide and seek" with her toys, which can help with her social skills and understanding of object permanence. You can also try sensory play with safe materials like water, rice, or soft fabrics, allowing her to explore different textures. Another fun idea is to create a mini obstacle course using cushions and soft toys, encouraging her to crawl or walk through it. These activities can be both fun and beneficial for her development! What types of activities has she enjoyed in the past?"
We got little stuffed animals and a bin with scoopers and bowls and our little one loves playing with that. Also painters tape and plastic animals we tape them on a box and she loves works at getting them off. Both are new things we started doing because she seemed bored and she has loved it.
