Is it ok to make your own mothers day gift?

Husband has to work a double on mothers day and it will be a weird day the day before, so i think we will end up just me and baby and visiting my mom to celebrate her mothers day. I work with babies and am making crafts with them as mothers day gifts this week and wad thinking about making another one with my own baby. Husband said he ordered me something from amazon but i really like handmade things more than bought. I was thinking about making the gift and makung myself a card but a collegue said that was depressing not sweet so now im doubting if its a good idea at all. What do you think?

Mother’s Day crafts are so cute but for me it’d be a reminder of how my husband didn’t do it for me.

I was thinking of doing this too! It’s a keepsake at the end of the day. I say do it!

I say do it. Because if your partner doesn’t, at least you’ll have a keepsake to look back on when your baby is older 🫶🏻

Celebrate yourself!

I really like this idea and may do this too! It sounds like a great opportunity for quality time while getting a cute keepsake in the process. Especially the cute little handprint crafts. I say go for it!

I've done it for the past 2 years. When my daughter was 1 she drew a bunch of scribbles on a big sheet of paper and I made them into cards for me and her two grandmother's. Then when she was 2 we made a gift basket together at her playgroup for mothers day. We should absolutely celebrate ourselves, and they are now super sweet memories for me.

Celebrate however you want! No need to feel bad about it

It’s not about what you get. It’s about making a craft with your daughter and spending time together on Mother’s Day. That’s all that matters
