My midwife gave me syringes to collect it and store it in. I would literally massage towards the nipple till a drop came out then suck it with a syringe. I tried collecting it in a cup at first but found this was too wasteful
Midwife will give you syringes to use, if you buy ones online just make sure they don’t have caps on them the nhs ones don’t on purpose so tired new parents don’t accidentally feed baby the little plastic cap 🫣 I found drinking plenty before hand and using a hot water bottle can help, also massaging the area helps the process 🙂 if you don’t quite fill the syringe first time pop it in the fridge and try again later, they can be in the fridge for a day before going in to the freezer in a ziplock bag with the date on as they should be used within 6 months x
I catch in a little sterile pot (also get on amazon) then use syringes to suck it out. Way too fiddly for me to go straight into a syringe, find much easier to catch in pot then after i sort syringes. I do it after a long warm bath (whilst still in bath). Managed 3 syringes first try, but it did take a while. X
@Christina could you possibly share a link to the pots you're using please? I can't find a link to the ones I used before but also found it far too fiddly collecting directly into the syringe!
You can buy syringes off Amazon. Get nice and relaxed and take your time. In the bath can be quite good. X
