Gravy

My boy enjoys a small amount of gravy with a roast dinner/ sausage, mash and veg meal. He has gravy on average once every 2 weeks or so which is the reduced salt gravy and very watered down. I didn’t realise until recently you’re meant to avoid gravy until 1! The very small amount surely causes no harm, there’s more than likely more salt hidden in things we don’t know about? What are your thoughts, do you/will you give your little ones gravy?

I hadn’t thought about this. Me and my partner have just been talking about how there is salt in so much food that recipe books have marked as safe to use (One recipe said to use a vegetable stock cube) I think it’s all ok so long as like you said it’s reduced salt and very watered down.

I’m sure it will be absolutely fine!! I managed to find stock cubes with zero salt though ‘knorr zero salt’ stock cubes :) I occasionally use those as a gravy for my girl

@Chanelle oh that’s great to know thank you!

I use the kallo or Knorr no salt stock cubes and make my own gravy from the vegetable water and cornflour ☺️

Great idea! Thank you x
