Potty training

For those of you who drive and have potty trained, what did you do in the car seat in the first few days when accidents are bound to happen? Don’t want the car seat to continuously be soiled as it takes a while to clean and dry! Want to go from nappies straight to pants so wont have any protection whilst in the seat

I used puppy pads when in the car

I used a hand towel and folded it so it was padded. Always have a travel Potty in the boot aswell. Luckily we’ve never had any accidents in the car. She’s really good at holding her bladder X

I bought a car seat little waterproof mat off Amazon x

I used bed protection pads, thankfully hasn’t ever had an accident x

Thanks ladies! We have a 3 hour journey coming up in a couple of weeks, and will stop but have any of you used pull ups in those situations? Don’t want to confuse her

@Emily I’ve seen this, are they actually waterproof like did they hold a whole wee?

I used a puppy pad too! I did try pull ups but found my daughter just treated them as nappies. Once I stopped doing that and stuck to pants my 2.5 year old is even fine on long car journeys with no accidents

i used to line the car seat with a nappy xx

You’re not supposed to add anything to the car seat… I just make sure he has a wee before we get in the car and then you can add a pull up over their clothes so it catches the mess but he feels wet so realises he’s had an accident

I used a puppy pad on the seat, I wouldn’t use a towel as that will alter the fit of the seat too much as it’s so thick. On a long journey like that though I’d have probably put him back in a nappy just incase. He was always really good and just told me when he needed a wee even if he had a nappy on so I could pull over
