So I started doing some light homeschooling with my daughter. The whole thing takes 45 min. Sometimes we do it in the morning sometimes I’ll do a portion in the morning and a portion in the afternoon. I follow the playing preschool program and it’s pretty much 5 min or less of circle time where we go over the date, season, weather for the day and what activities we have going to or if it’s a holiday (for example: we have a play date scheduled, or swim class or we’re going to the library). The. We read a book together and then there are two play based activities that we do. It’s super simple to set up and doesn’t take too much planning or anything and the activities aren’t costly. It’s all really budget friendly. My daughter LOVES it and I’ve seen her grow so much while doing this. As far as our daily schedule, get up and get wash and have breakfast and do homeschool or partial home school. If we have an activity like a play date or library or swim class it’s usually scheduled in the
Morning because that works best for us. Then lunch, nap/quiet time, then milk/snack time, then I just let her play on her own/wrap up home school or we’ll play or color together as we wind down for the evening, then dinner and bedtime routine. My schedule is pretty flexible because we need a routine because she does well with one but at the same time I don’t want to stress about it too much.
We have a pretty flexible schedule, but I'm working on 4k ready. The biggest things are actually more of the soft skills-following directions, taking turns, emotion regulation, respect for peers, self care (bathroom, hand wash, eat). The academic stuff the school will teach. But those soft skills are going to make the day go so much smoother. The other thing we stopped for a while but need to do more of is art, tool (pencil, crayon, paintbrush) manipulation, and Copying lines.. that sort of thing. Things that fill out day is outside time, kitchen help (making Chex mix, cookies, lemonade, cutting fruit) chore help (laundry, sweeping, picking up toys, wiping table). I do have a list, as someone with lots of 4k connections if you want to message me
