Help

My little girl is 6 months old, since birth she slept through the night up until 4 months and she’d wake up for food once or twice, i assumed this was the sleep regression.. She never took a dummy but i think since she’s teething she has Now this is where my problem lies, i think my baby is waking up more often now due to the dummy, she’ll wake up and realise it’s not in.. I don’t want to get rid of the dummy completely as it is a life saver during the day, before the dummy she was so grumpy if we ever left the house and now i can pop the dummy in and she’s an angel! Is my only option to get rid of the dummy? Please help i’m exhausted, we also want to try transition into own room but not while she’s waking every hour😭

Asked heal baby care app and sharing in case it helps: "It sounds like you're navigating a challenging situation with your little one, and it's completely understandable to feel exhausted. Since the dummy is helpful during the day but may be causing nighttime wake-ups, consider gradually reducing its use at night. You could try offering the dummy only during specific times, like when she's falling asleep, and see if that helps her learn to self-soothe without it. Additionally, establishing a consistent bedtime routine can help signal to her that it's time to sleep, which might reduce her wake-ups. If she's teething, offering a safe teething toy before bed might also help soothe her discomfort. Have you noticed if she tends to wake up more during specific times of the night, or is it consistent throughout?"

This exact thing is happening to me and Im so exhausted and not sure what to do either

@Meghan Has you LO got a dummy at night time.. i don’t understand how i could try an take it away at bed time 🙈x

Yeah she does, she uses it to fall asleep. I dont want to take it away either as it really helps soothe her :(

I guess we have to work with them on not replacing it at night, but that training is going to be sad and hard. My baby can replace it on her own maybe 50% of the time but thats not always going to work

@Meghan ah yes we’re exactly the same! although my little girl can’t put it back in herself c it will definitely be a long process! xx

What do you think you’re going to do?! Keep me posted haha we can help each other!

Have you tried putting 6-10 all around her crib and having her practice finding them and putting them back in herself? Using a paci isn’t a problem it’s just if they NEED it for sleep and can’t find it and put it back in themselves that it causes a problem.

@Shannon no, but she doesn’t roll yet and doesn’t really search for them at all when she does drop it, and also doesn’t know how to put it back in properly herself😭

I would start practicing that as a daytime activity!! Otherwise if it keeps impacting sleep, you can consider dropping the paci altogether.
