food!

this is what my little one had for dinner normally he has finger food he just can just use his hands to eat but i gave him this today and all he is doing is gagging and coughing and not eating it when he’s fed with the spoon.im trying to spoon feed him that’s why his food is all mashed up. i’m not sure if he doesn’t like it being mashed up i think he just wants to eat the foods whole but i’m not sure

How old? Some babies really prefer self feeding even from the beginning. This is also a lot of food on the plate at one time so it could be overwhelming for them.

This looks huge?! Let him feed himself if he wants to? - saves you the faff and then he'll stop when he's full

@Jessica i didn’t give him all off it and i also didn’t give him the plate but i ended up tipping half on his high chair for him to eat and he ate that all up

@GMF he’s 8 months he eats a lot of food so much food even i just tipped half on the high chair for him and he ate that all up he just wants to do it him self

Still looks like a lot but he'll know when to stop. Mine starting throwing food when he was done so you'll notice

Oh I didn’t mean he shouldn’t eat that amount. Babies are intuitive eaters and typically stop when full. Sometimes it just helps to only put a little in front of them at one time because they get overwhelmed just by seeing so much at once.

@GMF okay thank you

My baby doesn’t like when there is too much stuff at once. It’s overwhelming and they end up playing more than eating. She also prefers “cleaner” plates which look visually appealing
