4 down to 3 pumps per day.

I'm currently (almost) 6 months pp and am pumping 4 times per day, with an output of approx 1100ml, still more than baby drinks. Currently pumping 5:30am, 11am, 4pm, 9:30pm ish. When baby starts solids in 2 weeks I am wanting to go down to 3 pumps per day but because there is such a larger gap between pumps now I'm unsure how to approach it. Whether to just drop one and space them out differently like I've done previously or push the two middle ones closer together until they merge, and what schedule is also effective. I will likely continue to get up at 5:30 as I like my time before baby wakes at 6-6:30, (she has been sleeping through the night for months, falls asleep at 7pm. My night pump I have a 7.5ish hour gap but would like to try stretch it to 9hours. What schedule to people follow for 3 pumps and were there any drastic changes to milk supply? How did you drop the fourth and what month pp? Baby drinks 850-950ml daily so I can lose another 100+ml daily and have no issues, I also have a large chest freezer overflowing with frozen milk so I can easily supplement with that if required. Also my goal is to continue pumping until baby is 1 year old, but the less amount of pumping, the more freedom and life gets easier every dropped pump.

Once I went down to 3 pumps my milk drastically dropped. Went from being an over producer to having to supplement with for formula. However everyone is different!!

I recently went through a similar situation. My recommendation would be to reduce the duration of the pump session you want to drop. Drop it gradually. I made the mistake of dropping a session completely one day, and ended up with mastitis 🙈 and had to take antibiotics. My supply reduced significantly after taking antibiotics. But it’s slowly coming back.
