How do you handle losing your cool and yelling?

Hi mamas, I am deeply trying to not yell at/around my daughter. I can generally do a good job at this but there are moments. She is 5. 1. How do you practice repair with your kiddo? 2. How do you stop/not yell? 3. How do you prevent yourself from going into a negative feedback cycle where you beat yourself up/etc. for yelling? What ways can you help yourself be better/do better without shame?

I usually apologize and try to explain why I lost my cool. 2. I'll try to step into another room and give myself time to cool off. 3. Usually talking to my husband or a friend helps me talk through my feelings.
