feel like i’m not getting anywhere with weaning?

hello, my little one got given the go ahead to wean on a dairy free diet (he has CMPA) by the paediatrician last week, so since then i’ve been giving my little one purées (DF porridge puree pouch) to get him used to eating (will eventually start BLW). however he just spits it out and doesn’t seem to actually be swallowing or eating anything. please tell me this is normal?🤣

yeah so normal! it took my girl 2 weeks before she even started trying anything, she’d just spit it out and cry! we’re in week four now and she’s just started having and actually eating breakfast everyday x

@Katie amazing thankyou so much for replying! x

Done purees for 2 weeks with my daughter and she didn’t like it, spat it out all the time and was unhappy now trying finger foods, she’s stopped the crying but she’s not eating anything yet just playing with the food and squishing it with her hands xx

@Amie Cuttress glad it’s not just me haha! i don’t remember what my older child was like weaning so i have no idea what’s normal and what’s not! x

@Kira I know I’m the same my son I thought was ok and used to eat more but I’m not so sure at all 😂😂 I try and give her little bits of our dinner but she just isn’t interested at all lol I try and do that so we’re all eating together to see if it helps but it doesn’t lol xxx

I have one twin who will demolish anything infront of him and the other who will have a few spoons of porridge or yoghurt and be done so it’s totally normal

Yeaah so normal! My daughter is getting the hang now. We gave our first puree on Easter Sunday. This afternoon was the most successful meal we've had in regards to how much she actually took in and how much she spat down her front 😂. It's all learning! Still have to learn how to move it around their mouth and what to do with it!
