@Natalie no, i wasn’t aware that was something that needed to be done 🤦🏼♀️ i was just told to sit up straight so they weren’t tight. I’ll try massaging the area and hopefully that with moving as much as i can through the workouts helps. thanks!
I didn't have a c-section, but I've had other incisions that have needed to heal. I was always given physical therapy instructions to do at home to stretch the area so that the scars didn't heal too tight. I think there's also things you can put on the scars, lotions or oils, that along with a massaging and stretching can help get the mobility back.
This happened to me. I was so scared the first time I exercised I thought my incision opened up 9 months later
@Ciera did it eventually go away? i want to keep working out but im not gonna be able to make to through any sets if it doesn’t
I have had 2 csections, and had this experience both times. It did eventually go away. I tend to do low impact exercise like yoga and pilates, and I think the stretching helped along with massaging the scar.
When you were recovering did you massage your lower abdomen? When it heals if it's not massaged it can heal back extremely tight and when you move incorrectly it can cause a lot of pain. I always tried to massage as much as I could, granted there were days I'd forget. Sometimes if I move my body weird it'll sting or I'll get a sharp pain. Definitely take it easy and ask your doctor about things you can do and try massaging the area.
