Anyone else's LO still up all night every night?

I can't believe he's almost 2 and he still gets up all night, every hour or 2. He runs up and down the corridor, jumps on our bed, it's like he hates sleep. We've tried EVERYTHING. When will he sleep 😭😭😭😭😭😭. He's never slept through the night! The most he's done in 10-5 when he was 5 months old! It's harder than a newborn because he's strong and physical.

We still struggle too! We have tried every single thing you can think of. I admit it’s not as bad as what you experience but she’s still up at night!

@Catherine it's so tough!! I sleep in his bed, he sleeps in ours, it's up and down ALL night!!

I think it’s been the most difficult part of it all. I don’t do well without sleep - ha! I’m sure you’ve tried everything but recently we have made a point not to rock her to sleep, ensure she has enough sleep pressure before bed (usually needs to be awake for at least 6 hours before bed) and read like 10 stories before she goes to sleep. We also don’t allow any form of technology for about 90 minutes before bed. I’m sure you do al that but just in case!

@Catherine thanks yeah it's really tough. Bed time is quite the battle. It takes 1.5hr usually and then he'll be asleep for an hour or two until he's back up. I'm just really struggling. I'm doing a terrible job at work and feel like I've had the worst hang over for almost 2 years!!

You’re doing the very best you can, try not to be hard on yourself. It’s really hard work and we are not made to be without sleep!!

@Catherine thank you that's very kind. I just wanted a 2nd baby by now but I don't think we ever can now as I don't see this changing for a long time! Sorry just an emotional rant

Have you seen a health visitor? They’re not always the kindest but may be able to help? Or a GP? Again, no idea if they will help but it may be a way to find professional guidance if it’s affecting your life so much 💞

@Catherine I asked the HV but she never replied ha. I've only seen her once when he was a few days old. The GP offered me anti depressants which I took briefly but felt awful. I just need sleep not drugs!

Sorry I meant in regards to your little one’s sleep, if there was anything you might be able to do for him to get a bit more sleep. I’m not at all experienced medically, just spit balling haha! Health visitors are useless aren’t they!

@Catherine just a bit! No I went to the GP about his sleep and they said there's nothing they can do until he's 3 and then they'll assess if he has special needs like ADHD but she just offered me anti depressants which I wasn't expecting but I probably seemed like a tired mess!

Goodness sake yeah that’s not very helpful for the moment is it!! I had anti depressants in the first year too. They did help me but I was also probably just sleep deprived! You’re not alone ❤️

@Catherine thanks again for your kind words ❤️
