During breastfeeding, did one of your breasts grow much larger than the other?

About three months into breastfeeding, one of my breasts stopped growing and instead seems to be getting smaller, while the other one is growing much more. The difference is huge. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, it’s just that breast is producing more than the other.

I’ve heard it’s possible if one breast is favoured over the other and is emptied more so produces more milk in return. Im always switching breasts in between feeds to hopefully avoid this

Do they go back to the same size after end up breastfeeding?

@Adriana 🤔I’d like to know this as mine are different sizes, my right one is favoured and left one is producing less.

@lale really? 😪it's been hard for me to see myself like this in the mirror, I feel a little deformed

My right is favoured more no matter how much I try to coax him into taking the left. Big difference in size

How long have you been breastfeeding? I just hope they go back to the same size once we stop breastfeeding 🤞🏻

@Adriana yeah mine did, my right has always been a bit bigger anyway and they just returned to normal! I had trouble feeding at beginning in my left so my right produced more for first few weeks

That's great @Jess It's a light for me! 🥳 Thanks

I had this issue as well. Once I stopped nursing, they both went back to an equally deflated size lol. The only time it really bothered me was when I was in a swimsuit so I found a bikini top that had one shoulder strap on the larger side to disguise how much larger that breast was.

Lol deflated... That's what I was afraid of. Yeah People ask me if I have the extractor on 🤣

Not to me, but happened to my sister. Unfortunately for her didn’t go back to normal size, one stayed bigger than the other one

@Adriana seems like they’ll go back to normal when we stop breastfeeding 😅 I needed this information. Its seriously annoying to wear lingerie trying to seduce my husband with one big boob 😂

Yes my left went bigger, the side that produced less! And unfortunately is still bigger 🥲

Yes, but only for the first few weeks (or month, I don’t remember😄). Now they are the same size

My left got bigger than my right but at around 4 months pp they evened out

My right one was significantly bigger than my left one. after I stopped breastfeeding they both shrunk a little but my right one is still bigger and it’s been 3 years. I need a boob job 🥲

My left was slightly bigger before breastfeeding and got bigger during whereas my right one completely deflated. Finished breastfeeding 6 months ago and both have now gone back to pretty much how they were before.

with my first baby they went down but my right was still a bit bigger. now with this baby ( currently ebf ) my right is WAY bigger than the left. i'm hoping when i'm done bfing that the size difference isn't as noticeable

I thought I was the only one with this issue! 🤣🤣🤣

Are you mainly feeding on one side? Sometimes, one side produces more, and feeding more on one side encourages this.

My left side was much bigger as it was my son's preferred side and it became habit to offer him that breast. I stopped nursing 7months ago and they have balanced back out

My daughter is 6 and the one that got larger never got smaller to even out with the other 😂😂😂

I’ve always had a size difference that became more noticeable if I put on weight and my boobs got bigger. Annoyingly my daughter also prefers the bigger boob. I offered the smaller one first every breast feed. Thanks to that they are about as even as they have ever been. Our breastfeeding journey is soon to end so I await my saggy empty sacks phase of life 🥳

@lale 🤣🤣 Totally agree

@Frayere How long ago did you stop breastfeeding?

@Adriana about end of November/early December

@Cierra Damn, I'm sorry to ask you, by boob job do you mean exercise or surgery?

@Steph That's very hopeful! Thanks

@Frayere 💔🥴

@alissa I hope so.🤞🏻

@Crystal At first, I alternated between both breasts. In fact, the one that stopped producing milk used to be the one that produced the most milk. Then, suddenly, one day, it stopped growing even though milk was still coming out

@alissa hope for the best!

@Adriana both. I breastfed two babies so they definitely lost their fullness

I've been attempting to feed a bit more on the left to even things out but I swear the right one blows up so fast 😅

@Cierra Of course. Thank you!!

@Mimi yes!! That's the other problem, it happened to me too.

My left boob was definitely much larger at one point and I made an effort to get baby to eat from my right side more to try and even them out. They did mostly even out but I still notice the left one being bigger… my husband says it’s fine but I’m upset but it still . 🤨

Returned to even size post BF, after ending up with quite a strong preference 🫠

@Jill Sure, I understand you, it's just quite annoying 💔

Always start baby on the small side. Encourage it to catch up, and it should at least help
