Postpartum prep

Anyone have any meal ideas that can be cooked and frozen before baby arrives so we don’t need to worry about food etc when baby is here

With a toddler in the house, frozen meals are my go-to! Curries work really well (saag paneer, butter chicken) and then you only need to pop on the rice. Tagine is a good batch cook and cous cous as a side is no time at all.

Chilli con carne and pulled pork for burritos have worked really well for us! Avoid freezing curries with veg that have much water content as they go mushy (e.g. Thai green curry just did not work haha) but deffo will be trying frozen butter chicken as per Bryony's suggestion!!

Ooo, good ideas @Zara! Bolognese sauce is another quick go to. Agreed on Thai green curry, etc, but you can mix up the paste in advance for a quick dinner - still too much prep for me in the early days though!

Yeah I tried the paste freeze situation but it's not that much of a save so I'll probably just park that one haha. Will be great to have some other ideas here too!

I loved stuff we could just shove in the oven, so we had a pile of individual lasagne portions or other pasta bake type things, shepherds pie, etc. I made them in foil trays (like the ones you get from the takeaway) so they could go straight from freezer to oven and minimal dishes afterwards, plus they take up much less freezer space that way
