Constipation postpartum

Hey ladies so might be a bit TMI but just thought I see if anyone else is currently going through the same thing, I’m 7 weeks postpartum today and have been struggling with constipation since the birth also had an episiotomy so it’s been quite painful which I’m not sure is normal, midwife’s said I was healing okay just wondering if anyone has any advice or if anyone’s going through the same

High fiber, dried fruit, lots of water, warm baths and gentle movements. I take lactulose regularly and have used suppositories when really bad.

You could ask the doctor for Laxido which might help you - I had an episiotomy and it took a long time to heal

Dulcoease stool softener helps when I’m constipated with a senokot natural laxative too, I also had an episiotomy but at 6 weeks pp it feels fully healed now and not painful at all x

Laxido or lactulose you can get prescribed x

@Becca I would say it’s healed as I’ve had no direct pain and no stinging when weeing think I’ll call doctors as I’m not sure if it’s the constipation or if I haven’t healed properly

I had a 3rd degree tear 9 weeks ago and I felt back to normal until this week I’ve been constipated and the scar feels sore again, I had a pelvic floor physio appointment yesterday because of the tear and had an examination where she said it was healing nicely but can still be sensitive 12 weeks pp so she wasn’t concerned I was still feeling pain and just advised to try avoid constipation as best I can xx

I struggled with constipation, and it hurt so bad when passing the stool because of the episiotomy. Just eat lots of fibre and try pouring warm water while passing the stool, that really helps xx
