Staying awake while nursing

I just fell asleep feeding my 6 month old last night. Like fully asleep my husband had to wake me back up. This has never happened before and really scared me. I think it’s because shes been waking up a lot at night so I’ve been extra tired. Any tips for keeping your self awake while breastfeeding?

It happens! You’re human! I keep headphones next to the bed and watch something like TikTok (bright colours and music). It helps ♥️

i don’t breastfeed but i pump and this happened to me at 5am i fell asleep pumping for 30 mins sitting up in bed prob woke up bc the pumps shut off but was around the time my fiance was getting up for work, i woke up and he was already out the door so tired i slept thru that

I scroll on my phone...have often woke in the morning with random videos I have shared or reposted as drifted off 🤣🫣 but now I am a bit more used to the broken/no sleep..I am able to stay away and just scroll...which often ends in online shopping 🙃🤦🏼‍♀️

Can you safely co-sleep? That would be much safer than trying to force yourself to stay awake when you’re that tired.

If I am feeling tired while feeding I sit on the edge of the bed, that way I wake myself up if I drift off through the feeling of falling 🤣

I had to start co sleeping because of this. I cannot keep my eyes open no matter how hard I try, it is exhausting
