Baby puking.. what's normal?

My 2 month old pukes after every feed (breastfeed) and sometimes quite alot! Anybody else have pukey bubba? I mentioned to health visitor as thought he might have abit of reflux but she said he would be crying alot and showing signs of pain. Although he does seem unsettled sometimes and always wants to be on me.

My baby does the same! Dr. Says it’s normal up until age 1 when stomach can develop more

My nearly 6 week old is the same!

My first baby was like this until she was a year old. She wasn't in pain or crying, would just spit up / be sick every day, sometimes even an hour or two after a feed. Weaning helped a bit, but then her moving around and sitting up didn't.... just learnt to always have lots of spare bibs and she grew out of it!

Look into “fast let-down” - some people’s milk comes really quickly and this can make babies spit up

@Leigh I definitely have a fast let down so this could be it too!

@Brittany that's good to know it sounds fairly normal 🙂 and not making me think something is wrong!

What Leigh said makes a lot of sense as my baby spits up after I breast feed but when she’s bottle fed (with breast milk) she doesn’t spit up! I’ve been wondering the same! Thanks Leigh 😅

I have a super fast let down and both my babies have been really pukey as a result. My older one just grew out of it when weaned and my 9 week old spits up constantly sometimes it even comes out his nose😬🙈. Like other commenters I’ve found I need tonns of bibs and muslins constantly and I just live with the puke life 🤣

It’s nice to know I’m not alone. My baby is pukey. I have fast let down but he also pukes formula. He does have reflux. What your health visitor said about it not being reflux because he would cry a lot is inaccurate. Reflux presents in many ways (as I have now learned) but it’s also common in newborns due to their immature digestive system. I’ve recently tried paced feeding (google it) and this has helped reduce the vomiting but hasn’t stopped it.

I am pretty sure my baby has GOR maybe even GORD, as she does pull a distressed face after spit ups and then wants to comfort feed to wash it down. She is basically constantly feeding which then causes reflux again. It even affects her breathing as she gets super congested from it. Our GP is useless and recommended gaviascon which hasn’t helped a bit. It just made her more constipated. I will make another appointment and push to be put on meds. LG wakes herself up with spit up each time we put her down too early and it’s impacting on her and our life!

@Mariella oh no that sounds hard. I feel like all my clothes are covered in puke and we go through alot of cloths everyday! (Plus having to change him alot of times a day) Hopefully it gets better for us!

@Kavita definitely not alone. Yeah I had a feeling the health visitor wasn't accurate to be fair. I guess you can get reflex mildly too

@Rachel I feel you i am the same! Puke clothes and bibs wherever we go 🤦‍♀️
