Any ideas for bedtime messing around?

So for the past 3 weeks or so, little man throws his covers, bear, pillow etc out of the cot every sleep time. He can do this multiple times a night before he finally settles and lays down to sleep. I don't think it's a tiredness issue, more of a habit. Because he is often tired (yawning, rubbing eyes etc at bedtime.) Our routine is; go upstairs, wash and change, dim the lights, two stories, prayer and then lay white noise and lay down time. I have started a reward chart the past two nights and did it for nap time today too so he could understand that if he didn't throw things, he would get a sticker. He managed it for naptime and was excited to have his sticker. But at bedtime he has still done the same thing and thrown everything out twice. Any insight would be appreciated!

To be honest, I think everything is a phase at that age. Just stick with your routine, go with the flow and it's going to pass. About a month ago, lo woke up every night to come in our bed while she never used to do it. We just rolled with it. It lasted about a week then it went back to normal. Sometimes we don't understand what is happening to them, but I think sticking to the normal routine will help your child settle back into his normal routine

@Isabelle It's kind of my thinking too that it's a phase. It's just that it's been a while now so I needed some extra input. This is helpful, thank you!

Can you throw things as part of the routine? I’m sure I’ve read somewhere that kids have different needs before bed (burn off energy into the last minute, wind down, super relaxation) so it might help! I agree as well that it probably will pass! Do you go and put things back in or just leave it?
