Sleeping in cot

Also following if anyone has any advice!
More or less in the same boat. My boy can occasionally sleep in his cot but wakes up quickly. At night I think we’ve had two 8h stretches which was a miracle. Most of the time he naps/sleep in bed next to me. I practically moved to the nursery where we have a pullout day bed where baby boy and I sleep together, my husband is complaining I ditched him. 🤣
I must admit I've had no problems with my little one sleeping in her cot as she was born early and was in hospital for the first five weeks so had to sleep without me. Some nights she doesn't settle straight away and I have to sleep downstairs where I have a travel cot set up for her. When she won't settle she has a cuddle with me or dad has her dummy and her teddy with white noise on and that does settle her
We contact napped almost from start to 7 months, but always in crib for night. Frankly I just started one day putting in the cot for a nap. Sat by the side, patting the mattress and shushing. Took around 15 mins of whinging but slept. Gets easier for each but have to keep going. If she actually cried I'd pick her up but once settled then back down.
Our routine is the same except our night wakes are between 6-8 although last night was 13 😭 I'm getting so stressed about return to work with so little sleep
I used to be the same, would only nap or sleep in bed with me. I started with changing naps, I would cuddle him and put a dummy in to imitate the breast, when he fell asleep I would place him in his cot but he’d wake up. So I had to rub his back/bum to imitate movement of me rocking him (I think this is what he thought lol). And then after a few minutes of this he’d stay asleep and I’d leave. He’d sleep a few hours at first then wake up and I’d have to come in and rub his bum again or sometimes pick him up for a cuddle but after a few weeks he slept longer and longer then through the entire night. He now wakes up at 3am and won’t sleep again unless he’s in our bed but I think he’s teething again so is in extra need of the comfort, not everyone has babies that just sleep the entire night all by themselves from the get go and that’s completely normal! Good luck to you! My son now goes to nursery and he just falls asleep on nursery workers 😂
Mine is exactly the same, I enjoy the cuddles though! Or I’ve started trying to put him down on my mattress (on the floor) and I lay next to him so I can sneak out lol

My little boy only naps in the cot...will barely nap in the car or buggy and won't sleep on me unless he's ill so makes going out for us difficult as hell just stay awake most of the day really grumpy as he's tired haha ... I put him down awake and he'll put himself to sleep I was just consistent with it and he's done this since he was about 5 months now
No advice as I'm in the exact same boat!! He will sleep next to me at night so I'm thinking to get bed rails, I also have a side car crib. I'm going to try putting him in bed for naps when I get the bed rails. My thinking is, he will nap next to me in bed and sleep next to me at night, so hopefully I can put him down for naps in bed and I sneak away lol
